where all the trouble began
Welcome to my virtual home. Thank you for visiting and taking time to learn a little about me.
Who's not passionate about approaching life with as much curiosity, self expression and healthy collaboration as possible? As a creative, it's actually painful to live any other way but it can seem like we are going against the grain when we are fully self expressed. We need support. If this sounds familiar, I want to work with you!
I coach actors and creative entrepreneurs who want to recover and/or enhance their overall career and life satisfaction and excitement. I define creative recovery as "coming back to who one really is". Recovery can mean getting to what is naturally present when our blocks are healed or when creative suppression ceases. My philosophy is rooted deeply in Buddhist teachings and influenced by attachment theory.
I provide 1 on 1 mentorship, coaching and counseling, teach group workshops, classes and retreats for people who are interested in heightening their awareness of self and in nurturing their emotional resiliency in their work. Our goal is to foster an authentic relationship to life and self and to reduce suffering in all life areas.
It all starts with a dedicated meditation practice. Mine began as a solitary pursuit in the late 90's / early 2000's. About 10 years later I was fortunate to find mentorship and training in Theravadan Buddhism, Vipassana meditation and spiritual and hospice counseling with western Dharma teachers at New York's Insight Meditation Center, Against The Stream Meditation Society and the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care. My main meditation practice is Vipassana (insight).
I have worked with countless creatives one on one and in groups to help unlock new realms of creative expression and emotional resiliency. My training brought me to serve as a palliative care volunteer at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City where I also served as a group meditation and spirituality group discussion facilitator in their psychiatric wing. 2016 gave me an opportunity to fly to Chiang Rai, Thailand where I was employed as a Recovery and Life Coach, meditation teacher and retreat manager for the New Life Foundation.
Meditation, integrity, relationships, and service, are practices and themes that are integral to the work I do with all my clients.
